Hey, I find ITG better and all that, but saying that every chart in DDR gets old is fairly fanboyish.

Freckles doubles....that's pretty fun.
Janajane doubles....that's pretty fun.
V Oni Singles or Doubles....those are pretty fun.

There are some good charts in DDR. I will also stand that certain ITG charts seem bland....like most hard charts (Which is essentially DDR's Heavy). THere are even some bland Expert charts like Driving Force Classical, Boogie Down, or Disconnected.

Oh, and at least 10 of these threads have been made before. The only reason I personally am posting here is to quote someone, so don't get on my case and call me a hypocrite.

Those DDR charts are average, and the ITG charts aren't very good that you named. I'd prefer fun and hard, stuff I haven't AAAed before.

For you maybe. Its horrible for me. I play horriblely without characters.

I'm just saying that most people don't care about characters at all, and the reason they're not in ITG or PIU is that they're annoying and frivolous. Characters are purely cosmetic - they don't have any functional purpose or affect gameplay at all. The fact that you're using the absence of characters as your main argument against ITG and PIU shows an enormous amount of ignorance. I obviously can't stop you from avoiding ITG and PIU because they don't have animated dancers bouncing around in the background, but with all due respect, that's a pretty stupid reason to stick with DDR.

Look I'm not trying to make an arguement. The topic asked which is your fav. so I just said DDR and that is honestly my reason. I'm sorry if you think the reason is dumb but it is not to me. That wasnt even my only reason, I also said because I've been playing DDR for years in my first post. Background videos have no affect on gameplay, should we complain and beg to take them away too? I bet even if DDR had no characters to begin with since mix 1 people would still find something about it to complain. Plus I used to own ITG and I still have PIU. So I've played both of those long enough to not be cosidered ignorant. I just honestly hated ITG especially the songs and I thought PIU was okay. Like I've said many times, it's just my opinion so you shouldnt bust a vein for me saying what I like and what I dont. Maybe Super Nova will whip people into getting used to the characters since so many players these days stared with Extreme(AC) anyway.

Boogie Down might be an incredibly aggravating song to listen to, but the patterns are really good.

Show me where I said that I wanted the characters removed. I didn't say I disliked characters; I just said I didn't care about them. Whether or not a dancing game has characters is about as important to me as whether it's held together with shiny or dull screws.

Look the point is, I thought this thread was to talk about personal favorites. I said DDR was my favorite and gave the reasons. I never said DDR was better than the other two games for everybody, just for me. So, I dont know why anyone would get so ticked off. disgust.gif I'll just leave the forums then if that makes everyone feel better.

Anybody that rags on Pump hasn't played it enough to truely understand it. I played DDR for 6 years before I encountered PIU and now its all that I play. Everything about the game makes all other dancing games seem like an afterthought to me.

The music is far superior in terms of sound quality and in terms of variety. There has yet to be a single person that has seen me play that doesn't like the game because of the music.

Graphically, the game outshines everything and anything that any music game has ever thrown out. PIU:Zero has the best interface and the best looking gameplay ever.

Stepchart veriety is what gets the big vote now. There aren't 2 Pump charts that are alike. Andamiro puts such a focus of the charts that it really makes it shine over any other game. The added bonus of a focus on Doubles play really gets you moving around and offers so much more as a game than any DDR I've played. Also, the way the arrows are arranged feels so much more natural than 4-panel.

As for my feelings on ITG, I don't like it. Asthetically, it is one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. The music (mostly) sounds alike and pretty much caters to those who like synth-techno or other variations of the same. The only thing I give ITG props for are clever use of mods during marathon courses. I had a lot of fun playing the Driven course and I had a pretty good (although, frustrating) time playing Caddywhompus.

Go find a PIU:Zero machine and give it a chance. You'll like it, I promise.

This man speaks nothing, but the truth. I've been playing since 2nd Mix and now I only crave for pump. I just only wish there were more pump machines in maryland. frown.gif

Completely true, AFTER you learn how to navigate and master the menu. DDR and ITG is self-explanatory on how to get wherever you want, PIU is mad confusing in this category.

I'm not the only person who has been confused by the interface, so before calling me dumb, realize that many are and will be turned off by the interface.

That being said, I find the game fun and challenging. I can't quite figure out what difficulty I play because I fail some 7's and can pass certain 11's. I think this is due to the fact that I am very used to 4-panel, and seemingly basic 5-panel footwork trips me up, but faster songs with easier footwork or yawn easy...for me that is.

They have a nice little video right after you hit start on how the menu works. This really only applies to Zero, but the Exceed and Exceed 2 interface is very easy to navigate also.

Amen to that!! thumb.gif
Seriously, Pump is almost the only thing I play now after discovering it's beauty. You pump haters really need to give this game a chance before you say ANYTHING about it, good or bad. Because obviously you don't want to start playing due to your belief that you will ultimatly suck at it. It only took me a week and a half to start playing Crazies and I hardly ever went back to DDR. I still play ITG though.

So it's okay to tell others why they should like certain games? Sounds kinda forceful to me. I am my own person so I can like games for my own reason no matter if you like it or not. I like DDR because I like the characters and nothing is going to change my opinion no matter how dumb you think it is.

telling you what to think and stating why someone else thinks your opinion is dumb are two different things.

The point I'm trying to make is, Why are you people getting mad at why I like DDR better than the other games? It is my own personal preference so it shouldnt be offending anyone. It's not like I was putting down the other games. Sheesh...

Agreed. These forums are arrogant and cocky as hell, but we aren't as vicious as some others whether you believe that or not.

Oh, and there are a lot of retards and fanboys here. I don't know if we're unique with that though
