Most UK cabinets are produced by Electrocoin, based on the original japanese cabinet, but built to higher specifications (modern monitor, and a nicer sound system), with slightly larger stages and pre-installed with the Euromix or Euromix 2 PCB.

Most US cabinets are refurbished japanese cabinets, shipped to the US, and in 99% of cases upgraded from their original software to one of the latest japanese mixes (using the infamous bootleg firmware upgrades)

So at the end of the day, the UK cabinets/stages are generally in better condition, and the majority of US cabinets generally have more preferable games runnong on them.

Of course, it's all totally relative to which speciific machine you play, but that seems to be the general rule.

The songs and chances of getting an AA/AAA maybe are easier.

1. People here are talking about how the US machines are better, neglecting the fact that the only officially released US machine here was Dance Dance Revolution USA. Even if they're no longer as "illegal" as they once were, the DDR Extreme/MAX2/MAX/Xth mix machines are still imported directly from Japan.

2. Pads don't vary from country to country; they vary from machine to machine. I've seen a couple machines in the same arcade, with the same mix, but the feel of the pads are completely different. It's all a matter of maintenance on the arcade owner's part, and wear and tear on the player's part.

3. Here, a proper Cap'n Crunch parody: (Cocoa Puffs are much better, though)

Hey-oh Cap'n Crunch!
I eat you breakfast or brunch!
Gimme a spoon in my hand!
I'm gonna be an eatin' man!

Right, left, right!
The super-crunchy bite!
The taste so light!
The Cap'n is the best!

Ohhhhh pour, then bite,
then pick up the pace
until there's nothing left!

We all start our day with Cap'n Crunch,
Start it off breakfast or brunch,
Da-di-da-dum, Da-di-da-dum,
Start it off with Cap'n Crunch,
Have it when we want to much,
Eat up all my Cap'n Crunch,
Da-di-da-dum, Da-di-da-dum,
Da-di-da-di-da-di-da-dum!

EDIT: Someone shoot me now, I'm going crazy!

Okay: *bang with popgun* laugh.gif

I can't really say that I've played on a EuroMix machine, but I'm curious if any have actually been inported in America.
