Two and a half months ago I was getting D's on beginner, and now I can get an A's on hard Heavy songs (9 footers + Sakura), and AA the easier ones (7-8 footers or lower). I'm can pass some ITG 11's, and I'm sure that I could pass most of the DDR 10's if I had the game that they were in at home. I think I've come pretty far in nearly 3 months.

When I really started to get into DDR, I improved pretty fast. However, now I feel like I'm at a total standstill. I've got awesome PA on Standard, and fairly good PA on Heavy for lower foot songs, but some 8's, almost all 9's and all 10's are out of reach for me. I think part of the problem is my lackluster stamina. I believe I have sports-induced asthema or something, because whenever I finish a song that require a lot of stamina, it's really hard for me to breathe. I think I need to do something about that and I would be able to play better.

I personally could care less if he plays ITG. I'm not his personal advisor. What my point is that perhaps he doesn't want to spend 30+ dollars on a new dance game just to get better at another. There are lots of cheaper things he can do such as jogging, jumping rope, foot exercises, etc.

Yes, it did. Please don't turn this into a DDR vs. ITG debate thread.

Hmmm, 2 months ago when I first came back I tried A on x1.5 and horribly got my buttocks kicked. Now I can easily AA it, and can pass pretty much every 10 except PSMO, PR, and some of the SN 10;s. including the Japanese ones like Outer Limits. And I can pass most without breathing too hard, and my PA is sooooo much better. So imo I've come a long way, and when I get my cobalt flux I'll go even further!! E4.gif

I started in 2001. The learning curve was much, much tougher then. The hardest songs in the game were some of the easier 9's, and in terms of home version DDR the hardest songs you could play were Paranoias. People didn't play to AAA anything, so it took me two and a half months to clear my first cata.

A year ago I had about 7 AAA's and 100 SDG's. I'm at 11 AAA's and 140ish SDG's, with all 9's and below AAed, Max 300/PS/Sakura AAed, and everything else cleared except PSMO, even though I have a sneaky suspicion that I could easily do it with a decent grade because I can play a few ITG 11's in a set without too much of a problem. I haven't played for about ten of the last twelve months, but I haven't lost too much of what I built to before.

My scores are also rather inconsistent with each other and rather outdated. I can SDG Witch Doctor and Waka Laka on command, but I just SDGed Cutie Chaser yesterday. What gives?

This was from April 7th of this year, in the Young Guns thread:

Quote:
Most of these scores are from yesterday:

- Sakura (Heavy) - B -> A (dp was close to a AA)
- Afronova (Heavy) - B -> A
- Drop Out (Heavy) - A
- Across the Nightmare (Oni) - A
- Bag (Heavy, x2) - A (a tad better than my previous C)
- Paranoia KCET ~Clean Mix~ (Heavy) - AA

I recorded all of the exact scores I got on these, but my mom threw away the notecard I had put them on. Luckily, I was able to remember all of the grades.

That's all for now.

It's nice to look back on this, and I have really come a long way since. Quite nostalgic E1.gif.
